Players can play securely on shared-use computers

paddypowerpoker.com today launches Instant Play poker, enabling players to play anytime, anywhere. Ireland’s largest poker room is the first on the iPoker network to launch the No Download software, which allows players to enjoy the same functionality as the existing client without having to download any software. All players need is internet access via a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox), while administrative permission for machines used (Instant Play software is compatible with PC, Mac and Linux) will not be required.

“We’re thrilled to extend our product offering to include a non-downloadable version of our software. The fact that players can now use the Instant Play software anytime, anywhere gives them the flexibility to play at times that were previously unsuitable” said Paddy Power, Communications Manager for paddypowerpoker.com. “It also means that players who don’t want to download the standard software client can try out the iPoker software on paddypowerpoker.com. Anything that makes it easier for our players to enjoy themselves on our poker room is something to cheer, in my book!”

To celebrate the launch, paddypowerpoker.com is running a Lunchtime Series of Poker (LSOP) made up of $2 tournaments at 1pm from January 7th to January 13th, with the top ten finishers in each event awarded a $5.50 Irish Open satellite token. Additionally, the top twenty players from each tournament will qualify for the LSOP Final at 1pm on January 14th. This freeroll will feature a $200 prizepool and award a $22 Irish Open satellite token to the top ten finishers.

Limerick man crowned 2008 Irish Masters champion after three-day tournament

Fiachra Meere captured the Irish Masters crown and 1st prize of €150,000, outlasting the 422 other players taking part in the €1,650 buy-in No Limit Holdem tournament. Both Meere and 2nd place finisher Chris Wood (who won €106,000) qualified for the tournament via free-to-enter tournaments, while 3rd place finisher John Raftery won his seat via an online satellite on paddypowerpoker.com and took home €68,500.

Meere was “over the moon” after clinching the title and cited his winning of a huge pot when all-in versus Andy Black late on Day 2 as when he became a real contender to make the final table and win one of the bigger prizes.

The festival proved extremely popular with Irish and international players alike, as Europe’s top professionals fought it out over the felt during the Irish Masters and two side tournaments. The €200 rebuy event was won by Slovakian Jan Bendik, winning €31,000, while Dane Nicholas Lesckowicz took the €500 event title and €31,700. paddypowerpoker.com sponsored professional Ciaran ‘Big C’ O’Leary finished an impressive 4th of 203 runners in the €500 event for €7,800.

“We would like to offer our warmest congratulations to Fiachra, who battled through a very tough field over three days to become Irish Masters champion; I’ve no doubt we’ll hear more of his successes over the next few years!” said Eric Booth, Head of Poker at paddypowerpoker.com. “We’d also like to thank all the players who came from far and wide to play in the event, as it helped to create a very special atmosphere and we hope to see them all again for the Irish Open next April!”

Irish Masters 2008 final table results:

	1st Fiachra Meere – €150,000

Almost $5,000 in cash and prizes to be won each week
paddypowerpoker.com today announces the Back That Ace Up promotion, which will run for eight weeks from September 18th to November 12th. Over $38,000 in cash will be won, with Irish Winter Festival and other live event satellite tickets also up for grabs.

The prizes will be awarded on a weekly basis in three table stakes categories; $0.01/$0.02 – $0.50/$1, $1/2 – $2/$4 and $3/$6 and higher. All raked hands played on paddypowerpoker.com cash tables will count in determining the weekly leader boards.

“We think all poker players, both male and female, can appreciate a great rear, so we’ve combined our twin loves of giving away money and ogling a fine booty in Back That Ace Up”, said Paddy Power, Communications Manager for paddypowerpoker.com. “We’ve got over $38,000 up for grabs, so combined with our new & improved VIP programme it’s definitely a good time for players to play on Paddy Power Poker!”

Yep, we’ve all heard the music, from Queen’s ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ to K.C. and the Sunshine Band’s ‘(Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty’, from Sir Mix-A-Lot’s ‘Baby Got Back’ to Spinal Tap’s ‘Big Bottom’. Booty-shaking songs are practically all we play up here on the poker floor of Paddy Tower!

And in celebration of the rear view, Paddy Power Poker is gonna run a raked hands race promotion over the next eight weeks, with players able to win cash and Irish Winter Festival tokens in three different categories each week. If you play enough raked hands across all categories, you could end up with twenty-four cash prizes at the end of Back That Ace Up!

The top ten at table stakes $3 / $6 and higher will get paid, with the top dog snagging $600 each week, the top twenty-five at table stakes $1 / $2 – $2 / $4 will win, with the king of the raking castle taking home $500 each week, while the top twenty-five at table stakes $0.01 / $0.02 – $0.50 / $1 take also home a prize. Nice work if you can get it!

Can you get down with your bad self and shake your booty while on the tables? It’s time to Back That Ace Up on paddypowerpoker.com!
